Dell Thunder Android 2.1 smartphone to Arrive Alongside Lightning

We just heard of the Windows Phone 7-driven Dell Lightning, and now it seems like Dell has a pretty bunch of smartphones up its sleeve that are sure to lure. As if in a hurry to make the most of an opportunity to unveil handsets one after the other, the Dell Lightning is given company in the form a worthy sibling. The smartphone that has popped up along with the Lightning has been named the Dell Thunder!

What is fascinating to know is that the Dell Thunder would arrive driven by Android 2.1. The smartphone is expected to arrive with a 4.1-inch WVGA OLED screen, that sports a Dell Stage user interface. If you are familiar with the stories about the Streak and the Aero, this one would come as an added attraction as the UI has been designed in a more classy way.

Among the features is the ability to support Flash 10.1, which helps play web videos with precision. It also would come with an integrated web video Hulu app. Social networking capabilities would come alive with the Thunder Dell has thrown in features to connect to Facebook and Twitter.

Likely to sport a Snapdragon processor under the hood as in the case of the Lightning, the Thunder is expected to sport an 8 megapixel camera. To ride on the AT&T carrier network and also the HSDPA versions for other markets, the Thunder from Dell might arrive around the same time as the Lightning – that is during the fourth quarter. Akin to what has been tipped with regard to the Lightning, an LTE model might be ushered in by the fag end of 2011. We are just looking for more details to be spotted. Join us as we do that for you.
