MSI Computer Corp has lifted the wraps off its new MSI GX640 gaming laptop. The latest gaming device from the company comes with a 15.4-inch LCD screen with 1680×1050 resolution. With a clear slant towards gaming, the notebook is powered by Intel’s new Core i5 processor.

If you haven’t heard as yet, the Intel Core i5 is being attributed with capabilities that improve battery life by up to 15 per cent. The MSI GX640 notebook benefits hugely from this property.

MSI has said that the Intel Turbo Boost technology that has been designed to increase the overall performance of the machine up to 30 per cent is another feature MSI has thrown into the new device. Other specifications include 4 GB of DDR3 memory, a 500GB hard drive at 7200 rpm, a 9-cell battery, Bluetooth connectivity and Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

MSI has further incorporated an ATI Radeon HD5850 graphics card with 1 GB DDR5, plus DirectX 11 graphics support for the GPU.  What we indeed like about the new device is the keyboard that comes with a focus on gaming requirements.  The W, S, A, and D keys have been arranged in a more pronounced manner with clear markings. This in turn would sure be endorsed and lauded by gaming enthusiasts.

Packaged neatly in an aluminum case that sports red accents, the MSI GX640 has been priced at $1099.99. The GX640 is yours to pick at Amazon, while it will get on to Newegg too at a later date before the end of this month.
