The iPad frenzy has stormed the whole of US but the rest of the world is yet to have a feel of the device. There is a possibility that by the time, the Apple tablet goes global, there will be better tablet form factor computers available for purchase from numerous brands. HTC is one name that always comes up with quality mobile gadgets and when the company is thinking tablets, it ought to be one heck of a thingamajig.

Don’t you worry for it isn’t a mere speculation as the MD Quinton Leigh has himself revealed that HTC is working on a tablet device, that will be running on Google open source platform Android.

The MD also revealed that the HTC branded tablet might not be a pure iteration in terms of the form factor and the gadget should be available by the middle of 2011.

Talk about features and the HTC Tablet might offer 1080p video recording capabilities as well as 5.1 surround sound output. Nothing more has been revealed about the HTC tablet as yet but, these two features are enough to make a better media-centric device than the iPad. Of course, the overall quality has to be good too.
