T-Mobile myTouch Slide Details Emerge; May Arrive on May 19

The T-Mobile myTouch Slide has been spotted out there in the wild and as you all know is the same Expresso that had been doing the rounds on news sites earlier. Being readied as a replacement to the highly unpopular Sidekick from the company stables, the new handset is expected to arrive on May 19.

The upgraded myTouch Slide, from the images that were spotted, comes with a new Google search button and other new features. To run Android 2.1, the T-Mobile myTouch Slide is believed to be powered by an ARM11 processor. One aspect we tend to like is that the handset’s MicroSD memory cardslot is accessible without battery removal. This comes courtesy of a push-to-insert and push-to-remove design.

On the power front, the handset will sport a 1300mAh battery that would ensure uninterrupted power for quite a few hours. Other features include an optical trackpad, camera with LED flash, 3.5 mm headset jack, slide-out 4 row QWERTY keyboard and 320×480 screen resolution. There are mixed opinion as to the cuteness of the design, with more of them disliking the handset due to its not-so-enticing looks.

One major positive about the handset is that the home screen tilts more towards personalization and the company would be marketing it in a big way.  We hope to see a much likeable design when the real device comes out on May 19.
