Windows 7 SP1 leaked – screenshots

April 7, 2010, By Thomas Antony

Microsoft had already revealed that it was working on Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and it was inevitable that it leaked out sooner or later. And now it has happened and a recent build of the OS’s first major update has leaked out slightly ahead of schedule. GeekSmack was able to get hold of a copy of the Windows 7 SP1 Beta and play with it. They have also been able to take some screenshots of the service pack in action.

The build that was leaked is pretty recent with a compile date of March 27th. The installer is pretty much the same as those for Vista Service Packs but they were found to be much faster in comparison. After installing the Service Pack, the build number on the OS is updated to 7601.

While not many changes are immediately apparent, the biggest addition is the new RemoteFX functionality when paired with Windows Server. While Microsoft still hasn’t announced any release date for the update, you can check out a few more screenies at the source page linked below.
