Sprint Samsung Moment 2 to Debut with Android 2.1, but no WiMAX

April 7, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

If the grapevine is to be believed, Sprint might sometime soon unveil the Samsung Moment 2 on its network. The Samsung Moment, on Sprint, has been popular enough and it is expected that customers would more than be happy having the Moment successor too on the US carrier network.

Though official confirmation is yet to come by, leaked images of the Samsung Moment 2 paint a picture of what is really in store.

It is expected that that the Samsung Moment 2 will run Android 2.1 and will come boasting of Samsung’s own TouchWiz 3.0 user interface. The CDMA handset to hop on to Sprint will also have a full QWERTY keyboard.  However, the handset will most probably not carrying capabilities that would ensure WiMAX connectivity. Enthusiasts believe that this absence would position the Samsung Moment 2 a bit below the HTC EVO 4G. Another feature that we will all miss in the Samsung Moment 2 will be the Super AMOLED screen.

From what we get to learn, these are the bare specs now available. We guess we will have to wait a bit more to see if Samsung would be giving out more details of the Moment sequel.  Stay tuned as we go on a specs hunt.
