Samsung Galaxy S Availability Confirmed on AT&T, Android Fans are Worried

The Samsung Galaxy S will be a smartphone that will belong to the top-notch Android category and it will compete with the likes of Motorola Droid, Nexus One and HTC EVO 4G. The US arrival of the smartphone is also around the corner and that sure is exciting news but there is a problem which is nagging the Android fanatics.

As per the gossip hounds, Samsung Galaxy S is headed to AT&T in the US and that is why the Android buffs are anxious as they remember the way AT&T has treated its two current Android devices- Motorola Backflip and the Dell Aero.

The Galaxy S is a superb handset with a 4-inch OLED screen, the fastest 1GHz processor assisted by a dedicated graphics processor and it is also the first smartphone to support 720p DivX.

Regardless of all these abilities, the Galaxy S hardware could be wasted if AT&T decides to cripple the Android capability of this device, just like the way it treated the current devices. The Galaxy S will only be worth a grab on AT&T if the Carrier decides not to toy with the Android freedom. [via: Nexus404]
