Nokia is in the mood to please its business centric handset owners by offering them free Ovi Maps Navigation. The two premiere business handset- Nokia E71 and Nokia E66- owners are the ones that get lucky with the free update. Just in case you outsmarted others by grabbing the E71x, there is no Nokia loyalty bonus for you as the update is only limited to the E71 without the ‘x’ factor.
Nokia earlier didn’t offer premium navigation services like Guide Michelin and Lonely Planet on these customary S60 3.1 handsets but with Ovi Maps, the manufacturer did become lenient.
As a consequence of this leniency, the E66 and E71 owners will be able to enjoy features like free walk and drive navigation with turn-by-turn assistance thus rendering congestion free route options.
Ovi Maps with all these attractive features is already available on a range of devices such as the Nokia E72, Nokia N97 mini, and X6 since January. Nokia was convinced to extend the navigation service to the business handsets after receiving customer feedback.
The particular version of the Ovi Maps navigation running on these two devices had to be created separately and hence it took a while coming. [via: Engadget]
