iPhone HD Specs, Features & Release Date Rumored; New iPhone Comes With Amazing Screen (960×640), Debuts on Verizon, too

March 30, 2010, By Alex Ion

Up until today we speculated that the new iPhone will be dubbed iPhone 4G and will debut around June or July. Well folks, if the Wall Street Journal is to be believed, Apple’s new device will be called iPhone HD and will “debut this summer”. But it looks like Cupertino will now target Big Red customers too, as we’re hearing they are “working on another model for US mobile phone operator Verizon Wireless.”

If the new iPhone HD will be manufactured as before by Taiwanese contract manufacturer Hon Hai Precision Industry, the CDMA iPhone (which will probably be available on Sprint and Verizon) is supposedly being manufactured by Pegatron Technology — with rumors saying that Pegatron will begin mass producing the device sometime in September.

Meanwhile, a release date for the iPhone HD should be announced during an official unveiling event that is like to be held on June 22nd.

Why is the iPhone HD such a big thing? If we’re to believe the rumors, the fourth-generation iPhone will emphasize on screen resolution with its amazing 960 x 640 pixels display that rivals with the HTC EVO 4G or the new HTC HD2. Other specs and features include an A4-family processor like that one in the iPad, a front-facing camera for video calls and iPhone 4.0 with multitasking.

So what else would you expect from the new iPhone, guys?
