Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Multi-touch Issues Could be Hardware-related

As the US fanatics still await the arrival of the Sony Ericsson Flagship Android handset, the Xperia X10, its future is already clouded with reports of sluggish performance coming through. Multi-touch has been reported as the biggest problem and though the help of an updated Android OS will be summoned pretty shortly, there might be more SE will have to do.

Sony Ericsson Product Manager, Rikard Skogber, has mentioned that the Xperia X10 multi-touch issues may not be just software related and somewhere, the problem could be related to hardware as well.

If Rikard is to be taken seriously, it will then mean that a software upgrade may not be an adequate solution to address the problem. Hence, even if it gets an Android OS update, multi-touch will not improve much and that might force SE to make the feature obsolete.

The Xperia X10 will then have to rely on an official multi-touch support, something like the Google Nexus One or the Motorola Milestone. [via: Engadget]
