HTC Desire Black Edition officially confirmed – hitting Orange UK late April

March 29, 2010, By Thomas Antony

A “Black Edition” special version of the HTC Desire was spotted in a video last week but nothing else was known about it other  than the fact that it existed. Now thanks to a tweet from Orange UK’s PR man, Conor Maples, the “Black Edition” of the Desire weill be appearing exclusively on Orange from the “end of April”. While it has not yet been posted on Orange’s coming soon page, it is proof of existence of the “Black Edition” HTC Desire.

Orange currently has a white version of the Sony Ericsson X10 as its sole Android device. It also stocks the Motorola DEXT. Both will be easily blown away ones the HTC Desire hits the stores in April.

Other than the pretty looks, the Black Edition may be similar to the original HTC Desire in terms of specs. The HTC Desire itself is a version of the Google Nexus One made by HTC incorporating their HTC Sense UI into it. It runs on a 1GHz Qualcomm SnapDragon processor, comes with 512MB of RAM, 3.7” AMOLED touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera and lots of other awesome features.
