T-Mobile iPhone to Start Selling This Or Next Year; Could It Be the iPhone 4G?

March 19, 2010, By Alex Ion

Rumors of a T-Mobile iPhone have reignited, this time saying that the Apple device will be released sometime at the end of 2010 or early 2011. Following to our last year report, we’re now hearing that although they are concentrating on bringing Android handsets to their customers, the fourth largest carrier in North America, T-Mobile USA is still interested to get the iPhone.

And by the looks of it, it may be the new iPhone 4G that we’ve been hearing a lot as of late.

A report by Financial Times citing Rene Obermann, Deutsche Telekom’s CEO, states that “T-Mobile USA is hoping to start selling the popular smartphone later this year or next year”. Which makes sense if we consider the fact that iPhone exclusivities are long gone in Europe and soon in the US, too.

Apparently Apple learned from their experience in the UK and France where the iPhone sells on more than one carrier, with amazing results, and are now looking for a much broader user base to sell their device to.

While Obermann didn’t mention anything regarding the new iPhone 4G, we can speculate that since they’re bringing all these improvements to their network they’ll actually be carrying the fourth-get iPhone which emphasizes on network speeds.

So where does that leave Verizon Wireless? We’re pretty sure those 71 million Big Red users would like to know.
