Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus May Debut on O2 in the UK; Amidst Palm Struggling with Financial Loses

March 19, 2010, By Atul Roach

Rumors are ripe about the arrival of the Palm Pixi Plus and Palm Pre Plus handsets with the UK carrier O2 and the handsets may arrive as early as April this year. There hasn’t been any confirmation of the web OS laden devices arriving in UK and the speculation is being propagated by some anonymous tipster at Tracy and Matt.

The rumor makes a lot of sense though, especially when you consider that O2 UK does sell the Palm Pre and it may be looking to offer its customers new Palm devices.

On a personal note, Palm might be hoping that O2 does go ahead with the deal as Palm has registered quarterly losses of over $22 million. The reported concern is that although Palm has shipped a large number of smartphones, the number of sold units is drastically low.

Even the Verizon carrier enabled Palm Pre Plus is being sold for as low as $30 in the US. Low pricing options might help Palm clear the stock but at the end of the day, the company will have to bear further losses. [via: Pocket-Lint]
