HP Slate Pricing and Release Date Confirmed; HP Tablet PC to Cost 400 Euro, Arriving in June This Year

March 19, 2010, By Atul Roach

So much has been discussed about the upcoming HP Tablet but the pricing was still anybody’s guess where we thought that HP will like to keep it below the 3G enabled iPad. There is some unconfirmed news coming from an HP insider and as per him, the HP tablet will be priced at €400 which is about $546 although the US cost remains a mystery for this unquoted source as well.

It is no big secret that the 3G enabled Apple iPad will cost $629 and if the revealed European pricing is a standard worldwide (which seldom happens), the HP Slate will be cheaper than the competitive iPad.

The pricing bait could lure in buyers to ignore the iPad for a while but it is not good enough to please the netbook fanatics.

As far as the specs are concerned, we already know that the tablet will run Windows 7 and it will support Flash with possible hardware acceleration.

USB connectors, memory card support and a webcam will also make it as standard features to the HP tablet. Now comes the most interesting part-release date; the HP Slate should be up for the grabs by June this year. [via: Slashgear]
