Virgin HTC Desire Availability Confirmed in UK, Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 to Debut Soon

While the smartphone war in the UK is led by Vodafone and O2, it looks like Virgin Media would like a ticket in as they have just confirmed availability for one of the most sought-after Android 2.1 devices these days, the new HTC Desire — being the sixth operator in the UK to offer it.

In an effort to please their customers by adding a plethora of Android devices, Virgin UK are now ready to sell the more budget-oriented Samsung Galaxy Portal and the LG Intouch Max GW620 — going free on a £22 monthly contract, while the new Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and the HTC Desire will debut sometime next month for an unspecified price tag or tariff.

Is it just me or the Brits are the lucky bastards getting all the goodies these days, when it comes to Android devices? So how about you guys, are you going to nab the HTC Desire from Virgin Mobile this April?
