If you wanted to play the Crysis first edition on a PC, it was clear that a lot of money spending had to be done to upgrade your system, since the requirements were high. With the second edition of the touted trilogy, Crysis 2, Crytek has decided to lower the system requirements for the PC edition of the game. Crysis 2 will be set in New York where the players will get a chance to blast off the alien faces invading New York.

Carl Jones from Crytek revealed the information in his speech at the Indian Game Developer Summit 2010 where he also announced that Indian developers will get the CryEngine 3 at discounted prices.

CryEngine 3 development engine for the Crysis 2 ensures that the game looks similar irrespective the platform it is being played on whether it is PC or a thorough gaming console. The first edition sequel will require Intel Core 2 Duo (2.2GHz)/ AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ processor, 2GB of RAM and a graphics card that should be similar to a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS variant.

Carl also mentioned that the game will come with better graphics even on PC despite the lowered system requirements. [via: product-reviews]
