Pentax 645D 40 Mega Pixel Medium Format Camera is a Rugged Beast

March 10, 2010, By Atul Roach

We cannot thoroughly call the latest Pentax release a camera for the common man, but whatever it is, the Pentax 645D Medium Format Camera deserves to be called a rugged beast.

The pros might find it more interesting given its pricing, but it is never too bad for a family that wants to get clicked through generations using the same Camera. I call it rugged to the core for it has a virtually indestructible chassis which is pretty evident in the images.

Talk about features and you get the best ones with the 40MP 645D Medium Format Camera staging a newly designed 11-point AF sensor along with 77-segment multi-pattern metering system for super-high-accuracy light metering.

There is also a 3-inch rear LCD screen, slots for Dual SD/SDHC cards and a 44mm x 33mm sensor. The amazing 645 Digital can click a whopping 800 images on a single charge courtesy of the rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

A noticeable function (custom image) allows the user to adjust images with eight modes which also includes the new Reversal Film. This mode is designed to create images with the colors that usually belong to a reversal film. The cool 40MP Pentax 645D demands a hefty $9,442 and it should be up for the grabs by May 2010.
