March 9, 2010, By Radimir Bobev

Palm have certainly been talking about the game development capabilities of their OS a lot lately, and if you want to get in on the action, now’s the time – at GDC this year, Palm have announced the release of a public beta PDK for their webOS.

According to Palm, the PDK will allow developers to use C and C++ combined with web technologies that are used in the SDK, and those can all be integrated into a single app in a very streamlined manner. This means that porting will be very easy to do, which in turn opens the way for many new possibilities for game design, giving developers more freedom.

This sounds fantastic for the purpose of porting games on the platform indeed, and game developers should definitely give it a spin and see how they can manage with it. It’s available for download now, so if you’re interested in writing games for mobile devices, head on over to their website and grab a copy now!
