Gigabyte Reveal the Q1000C Netbook at CeBIT

March 9, 2010, By Radimir Bobev

At the latest CeBIT trade show in Germany, Gigabyte certainly had a lot to show, and one of the things they displayed was the new Q1000C Netbook. It doesn’t immediately strike as anything special, but its hardware components are quite nicely picked for this price.

The netbook uses an Atom processor, and comes with a 10″ screen. The processor is specifically the Atom N450 Pine Trail, clocked at 1.66 GHz. The maximum resolution supported by the screen is 1024×600, and it’s graphically powered by an Intel GMA 3150 integrated chip. There’s also 2 GB of DDR2 RAM.

There will be two different variants of the Q1000C, one with a 160GB hard drive and one with a 250GB one. The netbook will also be sold with a HSDPA modem to give it SIM connectivity for the Internet.

One peculiar thing to note is that people who’ve tested the netbook have reported a very good feeling of the keyboard, stating that it’s remarkably comfortable and pleasant to type on.
