Cisco Revealed Their Big Announcement – It’s a New Router

If you’re interested in Internet-related technologies, the name Cisco must surely mean a lot to you. And you’re probably one of the many eager to find out what the newest announcement by the company is going to be. Well, today your wait has come to an end, as Cisco announced a new generation of Internet routers, designed for the world’s currently largest Internet service providers, the CRS-3.

However, those of you who’ve been following the company’s recent announcements may feel a tad disappointed at what the product finally turned out to be. The thing is, Cisco hyped up for this revelation for weeks beforehand, claiming how it would change the Internet radically, when in fact it turns out to be nothing more than an upgrade to a current core Internet router.

The new router offers a traffic capacity increased 12-fold, and has is much faster and more stable in terms of handling traffic than its competition. How much it’ll change the Internet exactly is early to say, but we’re definitely eager to find out.
