Android-powered Motorola Quench to Debut on Rogers Canada, US Customers Still Waiting

March 9, 2010, By Atul Roach

Motorola was pretty vocal about its idea of launching three different Android devices for the three Canadian telecommunication giants and the row has finally been completed with Rogers getting the Motorola Quench. It seldom happens that Canada gets handsets bearing their European names but the Quench has done so, ignoring the Cliq XT American nomenclature.

Talking about the US customers, it is being hoped that T-Mobile will release it as the Cliq XT (of course) but, when will the eighth Motorola Handset be available still remains to be explored’.

It is such an eagerly awaited smartphone not just because of its Android background but an increasingly impressive spec sheet. The Quench also aims to make Android easier for people and increasing their appetite for messaging, music and the web.

Just to refresh your memories, the Cliq XT which broke cover at the MWC 2010 features a 3.1-inch screen along-with a 7.2Mbps HSDPA modem.

Its 5MP camera is blessed with an LED Flash and auto-focus technology. Although it runs Android 1.5, it still pleases with the incorporation of MOTOBLUR which helps you synchronize your social networking world. [via: Nexus404]
