HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam Edition Announced, Sports Cool Looks and Bright Colors

March 5, 2010, By Thomas Antony

I wouldn’t buy something just based on its looks. I would rather get a drab-looking speed-demon of a gadget rather than some flashy gadget that doesn’t really do well in the specs department. But not everyone is like that. Many, usually females, go for gadgets not based on their specifications but based on their looks. It seems like HP wants to reach these people too. They have come out with a new designer version of their netbook, the HP Mini 210, designed by Vivienne Tam.

More details below the cut.

The new version of the HP Mini 210 comes with a “Butterfly Lovers” design and a gold color that was made to match with Tam’s latest collection of clothing. The gold color extends to the keyboard and other surfaces of the netbook which also comes with a wireless mouse. Other than this, it is basically the same old Mini 210.

If you look under the hood, you will find an Intel N450 CPU and 2GB of RAM. The screen is a 10.1-inch BrightView Infinity Widescreen unit and the keyboard is 93% of full-size. The 3-cell battery, which also has a golden hue, promises upto 5.5 hours of use per charge and there is also an optional butterfly decorated mouse thrown in. According to HP, the netbook is “Coming Soon” priced around $600. That is a bit steep for a netbook but then, I never thought a netbook would become a fashion accessory. I guess we live in strange times.
