Motorola Droid Gets Android 2.1, Looks Great on Video

March 4, 2010, By Atul Roach

One of the most anticipated updates of this year has been the Android 2.1 OTA release for the Motorola Droid and sadly the users of the smartphone have done nothing more than anticipating. Here is something which will give those users inspiration to go on as we get to preview the Android 2.1 performance on the Motorola Droid courtesy of a droid-life video. We fail to understand how droid-life managed to receive an official Android 2.1 update on the Motorola Droid when the Google OS update has not yet gone public.

Our doubts aside, what we get too witness in the video is a better performing touchscreen with a more responsive reaction to scrolling and pinching to zoom. (video after the cut)

What the OTA update could miss is the Nexus One like application launcher but the shortcoming can be ignored considering the pace with which the multitouch features can be accessed on the Droid- it is really quick.

Now there is again no official word on the OTA release date but with such videos popping up every now and then, be rest assured that the wait will get over soon. [via: Phonearena]
