Samsung Galaxy Spica Confirmed on Rogers Canada; Release Date Expected Late March

March 3, 2010, By Alex Ion

Rogers Canada have officially announced that they’ll be carrying the new Samsung Galaxy Spica to their customers. Although there’s nothing official regarding a release date, we’re being told that the Spica will be available with the mobile operator, sometime in late March.

For those out of the know, Samsung Galaxy Spica is a 3.2-inch device with a 320 x 480 pixels touchscreen display, that has a 800 MHZ processor under the hood, features a 3MP camera with video capabilities, a 3.5mm headset jack and DNSe 2.0 for exceptional sound quality, and has DivX support along with a powerful 1500mAh battery.

On top of that there’s also a microUSB card slot (up to 32GB cards), WiFi connectivity and built-in GPS support to work with all the goodies Android brings.

Word is that when released on Rogers Canada the new Galaxy Spica will be running Android 2.0, but for some reason we’ll have to doubt that and think it’s going to be fitted with Android 1.6.

We’ll make sure to update you when there’s more info.
