The latest 9000 Series televisions have been rolled out by Philips. The  2010 line up comes with LEDs that promise enhanced energy efficiency and contrast ratios. Philips has also incorporated a version of its Ambilight Spectra to project ambient light onto the wall behind the TV to match the dominant color onscreen. Sounds good, right?

The models in the series also boast of the presence of Net TV that aids accessing Video on Demand content on the Internet.

The 9000 Series come as a high-end model. The 9000 Series incorporates the Philips Ambilight Spectra 3 that can adjust the color in the rear by identifying the color of the wall. The models in the series also come spruced up with the 2010 Perfect Pixel HD Engine . This feature enables 500 million pixels per second processing power and Full HD display for sharper images.

This apart, the presence of the LED Pro also does ensure energy efficient functionality and helps in featuring 2,250 trillion colors. The LED backlighting with Bright Pro ensures blacker blacks and brighter whites for a screen contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1, the company has stated. The audio department is taken care of by the two high-efficiency dome tweeters integrated into the front of the TV. Besides, they come with large volume bass and speaker boxes integrated into the back with 30W RMS output. The Clear Sound technology adds to the effect.

Full 3D Ready TVs they are, but this feature comes as a 3D upgrade pack you can buy along with your set. Philips has also thrown in wireless connectivity features via integrated DLNA. Further, 802.11n Wi-Fi that allows connection to a home network and Net TV for access to site also forms part of the package.

Rolled out screen sizes of 32, 40and 46-inch, the 9000 Series screen sizes may be commercially available anytime soon. We are just waiting to know what is on the pricing front.
