Apple iPad may be delayed until April, says analyst

Do we have a problem here? If you are someone who has been anxiously waiting for March to come so that you can lay your hands on the Apple iPad, we guess you have got reasons to be disappointed.  It is now being rumored that Apple might go in for a delay in launch of the iPad, and the reason being attributed to such a possibility is an unspecified production problem!

What we get to know from an Associated Press news report is that Canaccord Adams analyst Peter Misek has written in a research note that Apple is likely to delay or limit the size of the launch of its iPad owing to an “unspecified production problem.”  According to the report quoting Misek’s research note, Hon Hai Precision, the Taiwan-based supplier of Apple products, is believed to be undergoing production woes. It could even be a shortage of components, the report points out.

This could well mean that US customers would have to wait till April for the iPad to arrive. Even if the roll out happens, it is going to be limited. It is being anticipated that only around 300,000 might make their way to the markets during March. If you would remember, Apple had promised at least one million iPads to arrive this March.
