Nokia N97 User Interface a Struggle, a Fact Endorsed by Nokia Itself

February 24, 2010, By Atul Roach

There have been many examples of the users criticizing their smartphones with performance based complaints but, it seldom happens that a behemoth as big as Nokia itself comes out taking responsibility of a handset’s poor user interface. It was Anssi Vanjoki, executive vice president of markets at Nokia who mentioned that the N97 experience was unsatisfactory, indeed it was a tremendous disappointment which Nokia did not anticipate.

In terms of the number of units sold, Nokia N97 has been a tremendous success but, the disheartening factor is its experience quality.

Nokia is trying to make it self aware and thus push for improvements in the overall user experience quality. Vanjoki may have surprised the competitors but he also expressed confidence that the latest firmware updates have taken care of all issues. As per Vanjoki , the software is now thoroughly tested by engineers as well as people in the marketplace.

The advantage in the guise is that Nokia has better understood user experience needs through the updates and now we can expect the Symbian 3 edition to be flawless. [via: Electricpig]
