Motorola Cliq Update 1.3.18 is a welcome change with Quick Office 2 On Board

February 24, 2010, By Atul Roach

The Motorola Cliq owners are on a rush apparently with the arrival of the software update 1.3.18 which is offering them a range of impressive integrations and features. The highlight is the addition of Quick Office II that will facilitate editing and creation/opening of Microsoft Office documents. Other predicted changes include an improved battery life, better touchscreen response and some impressive GPS updates.

Some users regularly complained about missed call notifications and the update looks to make that more consistent. Another issue was that of the random speakerphone activation and that too has been checked along with music playback through the earpiece instead of the external speakers.

As the updates are now being sent, the Cliq owners will also enjoy WMA and WAV file support which too was known already.

The GPS performance automatically speeds up (after the update) for services like Google Maps. Also, a software Bluetooth change will enable syncing with a car’s interface where even visual voicemail can be heard.

Motorola has next promised the Android 2.1 OS update but it didn’t mention a specific time-frame. [via: Electronista]
