Verizon and Sprint delay the BlackBerry Bold 9650 launch

The Blackberry Bold 9650 and for some the Tour 2 9650 is an eagerly awaited handset but, problems have begun right at the beginning with both contingents i.e. Sprint and VZW delaying the launch. It was Verizon that got a head-start (seemingly) as their smartphone even made it to certain stores but, stocks had to be returned for updates and the launch will now happen after the OS 5.0 arrives for the Tour 9630.

The Sprint lobby is also facing problems courtesy of the integrated WiFi source on the device. There had to be a snitch somewhere and it was some RIM insider who let go the information.

WiFi was the new thing around other than the optical trackpad on the 9650 and with WiFi complicating things for Sprint, one can be rest assured that it will be a recurring experience, Nexus one 3G goof-up is a good example.

Also, it is important to know that Bold 9650 is the only name to remember and Tour 2 9650 is history. This must leave a lot of hopefuls in dismay especially when you consider two carriers are selling it in future. [Via: Nexus404]
