Hardcore gaming and notebooks are usually two terms that don’t mix. One of the things you have to sacrifice for the sake of portability in laptops is the performance factor which is required to render the heavy visual effects and physics in modern video games. But for those who have the money to burn, there are manufacturers who have come out with gaming notebooks which pack the punch in a small package. ORIGIN is one such company specializing in the high performance gaming hardware sector. Their latest creation is the EON18, which really packs enough processing muscle to bring an awesome gaming experience through its 18.4 ” Full HD display

More details below.

The notebook is powered by an Intel Core i7-920XM Extreme processor along with upto 8GB of DDR3 RAM. The pixel-pumping is carried out by a dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285M GPU. To ensure maximum access speeds, there is option for upto 3 SSDs connected in RAID configurations. Another optional is a Blu-Ray burner. The keyboard is custom made for gaming with programmable gaming keys and touch-sensitive shortcuts, along with a full-fledged separate numeric keypad.

All that muscle obviously comes at a price. The starting price for the EON18 is $2,299 and can go above $5000 once you add on all the optionals.
