Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 hitting AT&T Shelves for $199 in Q2

February 18, 2010, By Atul Roach

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is one of the most sought after smartphones ever since its announcement but the same hasn’t been given a release date until now. Speculation is now ripe that the Xperia X10 will be hitting AT&T shelves as early as April or May this year and AT&T will offer it for $199 on a two year contract. There have been rumors earlier where the Xperia X10 was thought to be fetching a higher price but most users will prefer the handset for $199 or even less if this scoop turns out to be true.

The Xperia X10 has also been announced in Japan and it will be available there by April which means the handset will ‘more’ probably make it to AT&T stores in May after the Japanese release.

The MWC 2010 also saw the release of the X10 Mini and Mini Pro and there is every chance these two devices may also see the daylight with the X10 availability.

AT&T subscribers have been desperately awaiting a big Android release and therefore AT&T should push the release date earlier to take advantage of the sales benefits. [via: Phandroid]
