iPhone OS 4.0 may get demoed on March 14th

February 18, 2010, By Thomas Antony

Apple is always a very good target for the rumour mill and most of the rumors turn out to be true as well in this case. The latest thing going around is that the Apple will be demonstrating the next version of the iPhone OS, the iPhone OS 4.0 on the 14th of March, 2010. The news comes from some guy who tipped off redmondpie about the same. Some other websites are saying the unveiling will be on May 14th, but this is unlikely as it is a Sunday.

Earlier this month, Apple had released the iPhone OS 3.1.3 update which brought in some important security and bugfixes to iPhones and iPod Touches. The iPhone SDK 3.2 for iPad was released last month along with the iPad’s unveiling but this version is made specifically for the iPad and is not supported on the iPhone or the iPod Touch.

The release date for iPhone OS 4.0 is expected to be in the last week of March, which is around the same that the iPad is expected to ship. Another product of the rumor mill has been the next-gen iPhone, or the iPhone 4G, as it is being called. It will however probably not be unveiled until this June’s WWDC conference.
