HTC has no plans to disappoint its admirers who’ve long been waiting for some stunning smartphones and therefore the next member revealed at the MWC 2010 is the HTC Legend, the official successor to the popular HTC Hero. Following the pattern of other HTC phones outed from the event, HTC Legend also embraces an upgraded Sense UI blessed with Friend Stream widget, a tool that aggregates friends status updates across a number of services.

Just like the HTC Desire, HTC will first sell the Android 2.1 laden handset through Vodafone and direct dealers in Europe in Q2 2010 while the North Americans will have to wait in anticipation. Nonetheless, HTC Legend is a smartphone worth waiting for with an updated 3.2-inch AMOLED display which retains the HVGA resolution.

Legend also adorns the optical trackball and it does one up on the other as the trackball is surrounded by a click-able button. The specialties aside, on the connectivity front it is compatible with Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and HSPA/WCDMA while GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi also come as standard features.

On the rear is a 5MP camera assisted with auto-focus and flash and HTC also offers a 3.5mm audio jack to keep you music happy. The aluminum cased handset is the one to look out for in the future. Any guesses about the carrier to endorse it?
