Toshiba K01 QWERTY Slider Breaks Cover at MWC; Specs Include 1GHz CPU & OLED Capacitive Touchscreen and Windows Mobile 6.5

The 2010 MWC just kicked in today in Barcelona, and Toshiba is all over the place by announcing new products, out of which, a very interesting new Toshiba K01 QWERTY slider. Announced literally just hours ago, the new Toshiba K01 packs just like the updated TG02 a snappy 1GHz processor and boasts a wide, high-quality 4.1-inch touchscreen (Toshiba’s first OLED capacitive display) that promises bright colors, an amazing contrast rate, faster response times and for the green-minded, lower power consumption.

Other than the above, the super slim Toshiba K01 measures 12.9mm from front to back, yet it manages to feature a QWERTY sliding keyboard, has up to 32GB of storage via a microSDHC card and runs Windows Mobile 6.5 — leading us thinking that it would be available for an upgrade to Windows Mobile 7 when the new OS will be available to the market.

For now we can’t confirm anything other than the above, meaning that there’s no official price or a release date set for the new Toshiba K01. Needless to say that we’ll update you when we have more, as Toshiba is in full swing at MWC.
