Samsung Possibly Showing Their Newest AMOLED Phone Next Week?

Some time ago, Samsung showcased a new 3.3″ AMOLED display with embedded touch controls. We’ve been wondering when we’d actually see this in action – yes, it looked cool and all, but a screen is a screen, without a phone to see it in, it’s not that much attractive, really. Turns out the 800×480 “Super AMOLED” display will be unveiled next week, at the Mobile World Congress show. There’s a lot of talk about the panel’s clarity capabilities, and it’s also supposedly fine-tuned for outside use, giving a clear picture with sharp contrast, which pretty much defeats the weakest point of previous AMOLED devices such as the Nexus One and Zune HD. Not much else is known about the upcoming phone, though the current information does sound interesting enough. We’ll be showing you more next week when we get the fresh news – until then, ponder at the possible choices for an operating system for a device like this. [ Via Engadget ]
