Fallout: New Vegas Trailer Debuts

February 8, 2010, By Radimir Bobev

The next installment in the Fallout series, titled Fallout: New Vegas, is set to be released on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 in Fall 2010 (similar to how the original was released during the fall of its year), as was confirmed by Bethesda just recently.

The expansion is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment and not Bethesda themselves, but Bethesda reassured fans that their partners were very familiar with the franchise – in fact, Obsidian were founded by developers who once worked at Black Isle, the company behind the original Fallout games.

As the name implies, the game will take place in Vegas, and feature a dark and gritty atmosphere full of dark humor.

Fallout has switched many hands during its development since the franchise started – Fallout 1 & 2 were developed by Black Isle, who were owned by Interplay – and when Interplay went down, the rights to the series were sold to Bethesda, who took over from there.
