Nokia N900 Can run Mac OS X 10.3 Panther

Nokia N900 is a great open source supporting handset that just runs any software and the latest Maemo hack has enabled the device to boot Mac OS X 10.3 Panther. A few days back we called it the ‘dual booting device‘ as Brandon Roberts managed to run both Android and Maemo on it. Mac OS was probably the only software for which the device was to be hacked and Toni Nikkanen from Finland made it happen.

Toni managed the hack by using PearlPC to install a version of Mac OS X 10.3 though the ground reality remains that it takes 90 minutes for the boot to load.

90 minutes seems like a decade when it comes to booting a gadget and therefore I cannot think of any layman who will have such a long duration to run a version of the Mac OS on the Nokia N900. It can only be a hacker who can try booting the OS for knowledge sake. For me, Maemo always seems the best bet on the Nokia N900 smartphone. [via: SoftSailor]
