Apple Tablet Prices, Specs And Features Detailed, New Image Leaked

Probably the most rumored device this year, the new Apple tablet has been, supposedly, caught on camera just hours ahead of Apple’s Special Event that will mark its official debut. Along with images showing what the iTablet will look like, we managed to get our hands on some specs and features, and boy does it look like the most *amazing* device ever.

Apparently the tablet is a media oriented device that allows you to read books, watch movies and even play video games. More to it, the slick machine packs an impressive battery under the stylish casing, an OLED touchscreen, an integrated HDTV tuner, PVR, wireless keyboard + monitor connection for tv,mouse-like thumbpads, Wi-Fi connectivity, 3G support for both Verizon and AT&T, and a front-facing and rear camera. On top of that the Apple tablet appears to be appealing to the green minded, too, as there’s a solar panel thats draws power from the sun.

How do we know all these? Some 10 days ago, Jason Calacanis, the founder of Engadget and the guy behind Mahalo (the human-powered search) has got a tablet o play with and the guy shared some of his thoughts, on his Twitter account.

That’s how we learned that the Apple Tablet will sell for $599, $699 and $799 depending on size and memory, the fact that it will run an iPhone OS flavor (maybe the new iPhone 4.0 OS?) and has multi-tasking.

He also mentioned that:

“Also, the apple tablet is really amazing for newspapers. Video conferencing is super stable, but nothing new.

I can tell u the battery life is great in ebook reading mode but not great when on wifi or playing games. 2-3hrs.

Apple tablet’s 2 cameras is sick feature for video conferencing: u shoot what’s in front of you + yourself. Augmented video conferncing!

Apple tablet games are sick. Basically nintendo wii-level innovation. Custom farmville app is insane.

Apple tablet connects to other tablets over wifi for gaming. There will be LAN parties with these things, people playingFirst personshooters.

Ok, I’m going to bed (with apple tablet after reading nytimes+Vanity Fair on it!), steve jobs outdid himself, its greatest device ever!!!”

Jason, you sure managed to get us drooling in here. Can’t wait for the official announcement to kick in.
