HTC Hero Getting Android 2.0 Only in March, No Update for Android 2.1 Yet
An Android update is such an important thing for smartphones given the rage for Google OS based devices in the market and therefore the news of the HTC Hero getting an Android 2.0 update in March raises a few brows. All OS updates i.e 1.6, 2.0 and 2.1 will be delayed until March as per an unofficial source that is certain about the delay.

The delay is a consequence of HTC trying to tightly integrate the HTC Sense UI with the Android 2.0 and other versions of the software. The positive thing is that the HTC Hero might jump straight away from version 1.5 to 2.1 without wasting time in minor intermediate updates.
The HTC owners desperately awaiting an Android update may be livid as they have to wait for a couple of months but, the wait will not be hurting if they consider a direct shift to Android 2.1 in March. HTC just has to ensure that they do not delay the update furthermore! [via: Pocket-Lint]
