Google Nexus One Android Phone Arriving at Walmart Wireless

January 26, 2010, By Atul Roach

Google has a clearer picture about the Nexus One Android smartphone after its first week of sales and therefore it is now ready with a better marketing strategy and some quick patches for poor coverage and some regular bugs.

The sales numbers weren’t overwhelming in the first week and Google suspects that a major reason could be the Nexus One availability only through the Google online store. To do away with the constraint, the Nexus One Android smartphone will be available from Walmart Wireless as suggested by a product page snapshot.

There is no definite date for the arrival of the Nexus One at Walmart Wireless but, the snapshot suggests the device is ‘Coming Soon’. Google has revisited the marketing strategy and therefore ‘soon’ may imply that the Smartphone will be available by the end of this week.

Data assembled by Flurry depicted that the Nexus One Google smartphone failed to impress the sales counters, registering only 20,000 units sold in the first week. It will be interesting to see whether the addition of Walmart Wireless as a direct dealer helps those numbers jump to please a sordid Google camp.
