The bimmer admirers who adore coupes and convertibles bearing the German moniker will be glad to know that the 2011 BMW 335is has been detailed before its official April 2010 debut at the North American International Auto show. The 2011 335is model will feature a 3.0L twin-turbo N54 inline-6 engine which is capable of churning 320hp at 322lb-ft of torque. It could make 370lb-ft available in required conditions through the turbo-boost technology.

BMW is directly looking to curtail sales of the Audi AS4 which is done remarkably well in this segment. The 335is will have both variants of the car featuring an optional seven-speed dual clutch transmission while the six-speed manual will come as standard.

The optional gear transmission mated with the 320hp engine will help the coupe pelt from 0 to 60mph in 5.0 seconds while the standard transmission will take a second extra for the same. The convertible will take 5.2 seconds from 0 to 60mph irrespective of the transmission. The bimmer will have an electronically limited top-speed of 150mph [241km/hr].

BMW will start shipping all variants of the 2011 335is after its official debut in April. Sales will initially be limited to US and Canada with the coupe starting at $59,075 and the convertible at $50,525. [via: Carscoop]
