Mozilla Releases Second RC for Firefox 3.6

A second release candidate for Firefox 3.6 has just been released on Sunday by Mozilla, and it’s one step further towards Mozilla’s planned frequent updates for the browser.
The president of Firefox, Mike Beltzner, announced the release of the second RC on Sunday but didn’t reveal a lot of other details. There were some vague release notes but they didn’t really tell us anything important. According to Mozilla, the update targets security and stability primarily.
You can already download the update from Mozilla’s download site, with over 1 million people testing it right now – with the estimated total usage being around 300 million people. The update includes Personas to make customization easier, and blocks third-party software from nesting itself on the browser’s file system, buffing up its stability and security.
JavaScript performance has also been improved, now working much faster and offering healthy competition to Google Chrome in this aspect. It’s great to see Mozilla holding up to their word about the more frequent development schedule, and we’re eager to see what else they’ve prepared for us.
