BioShock 2 to be Supported by Lots of DLC

January 18, 2010, By Radimir Bobev

The first BioShock game didn’t enjoy a lot of developer attention in terms of DLC content – just some new abilities and a bunch of extra challenge levels for the PS3 version. 2K Marin, the developers behind BioShock 2, have stated that BioShock 2 will receive a lot of DLC, delivered through an “aggressive” campaign.

“We are working on pretty aggressive plans for DLC and that’s actually something that is already under-way,” was the statement made by Kent Hudson, senior systems designer at the company. The studio seems to be splitting the workload as the Australian-based one is already gearing up for a major release.

The exact contents of the DLC are still not known – BioShock 2 supports multiplayer unlike the single-player only BioShock, so it’s likely that the DLC will be related to the game’s multiplayer content, at least slightly. The game is set to be released on February 9, so we’ll soon find out what they have in store for us.
