Eyeing the burgeoning eReader mart is Asus’ next best intention. We have been hearing lots about the eReader in the works at Asus stables, but this is the first time some amount of specs are being revealed. The Asus DR-570 is what the company intends to call the new device and it is expected to be a refreshing addition to the eReader market. The Asus device will be different from its contemporaries owing to the fact that it would be using a 6-inch high-brightness OLED panel instead of the run-of-the-mill E Ink panel on its display.

What interests us is the OLED panel, indeed. Further, Asus has spruced up the DR-570 by adding WiFi and 3G capabilities. If you didn’t know, the two communications options would give the Asus DR-570 a high podium among the others in the market.  Asus has also thrown in up to 122 hours of battery life from a single charge. Would you believe that? The 122 hours of battery life is real even if you are watching videos over your WiFi connection. The DR-570 will also come with capabilities to let you watch Flash video.  What more are you looking for?

Now that’s all we have managed to get hold of for the moment. It is expected that the Asus DR-570 would debut by the year end. We will wait to know what’s on the price tag when it finally arrives.
