Kodak Launches Lawsuit Against RIM and Apple

Kodak recently sued Samsung and it appears that they just can’t get enough legal battles on their hands. Right now, Kodak’s attorneys are launching three separate lawsuits against Apple and RIM. Two of those cases seem to replicate the Samsung one almost perfectly, with the first one being an International Trade Commission complaint.

According to the complaint, the BlackBerry and iPhone are making use of previewing software developed by Kodak illegally, while the other lawsuit targets Apple in New York’s Western District, and it includes a certificate for processing images at different resolutions.

The third lawsuit is also aimed at Apple, suing them for infringing several certificates on computer programs calling other programs – however, Kodak have already enforced those in a case from 2004, lead against Sun.

According to Kodak, they aren’t trying to remove anyone or anything from the market, but merely defending their license rights in the name of fairness. We’ll see how this all turns out, though things are looking rather weird with all these lawsuits going on.
