If you haven’t heard yet, here’s some news for you. Your favorite video game console will soon start streaming movies too. Nintendo Co has officially come out in public saying that it would add Netflix’s movie-streaming service to its Wii console. The Nintendo Wii with Netflix will start arriving in stores this Spring.

If you are now worrying about the money factor, please don’t. Nintendo will get the Netflix streaming service up and running for you for free. When we say that, we should add that the free service would be available to than 11 million people who already subscribe to Netflix’s movie rental service. Nintendo, however, is not the first to bring in this service. Microsoft Corp had incorporated Netflix streaming into its Xbox 360 console in November 2008, while Sony Corp followed that up with Netflix on PlayStation 3 exactly a year later. With Nintendo Wii too to have the Netflix streaming service for free, it is as if each player has now arrived on to a level field.

The decision by Nintendo to go for Netflix on its Wii console may be attributed to the fact that the Wii had been losing much ground as sales slid compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360. Hope things turn rosy at least now for Nintendo Wii.
