Asus UL80JT notebook with Core i7 fast getting ready; may sell for $1000 this year

Watch out for the new creation from the Asus assembly line. The grapevine has it that Asus is in the process of readying a Core i7-based notebook, which it plans to bring to the market shortly. Christened UL80JT, the new notebook is expected to boast of an amazingly long battery life, among other top of the line features.

Going by the rumors, the upcoming high-end notebook would come integrating   two GPUs. These would include a NVIDIA GeForce 310 and Intel GMA. Significant is the fact, the Asus notebook will see the two GPUs automatically switch themselves between both components second-by-second instead of requiring the user to reboot or manually choose the correct mode, or say the reports.

Boasting of a 12-hour battery and desktop widget which displays clocking for the 1.73GHz CPU, the new notebook will bring together a variety if power-management methods into play. We hear that Asus is readying the UL80JT notebook for a launch date sometime later this year. Oh yes, the price now. The notebook might sell for $1000 soon after it starts shipping later this year.
