Serious Sam HD got delayed for the Xbox 360, but it seems the fans of the muscular gun-loving guy are soon going to get to enjoy his adventures on their console. Devolver Digital, the developers behind the title, announced that Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter will be made available on Xbox Live Arcade on Wednesday, January 13.

For those of you who haven’t been following and are wondering why the game’s title sounds the same to that of the first game in the franchise, the answer is simple – this is just a revamped version of the original, with severely improved graphics.

Like in the original, you get to blow away aliens with up to 3 of your friends online, at the cost of 1200 MS Points – or $15. The game was already released for the PC about two months ago, where it supports 16 player co-op and costs $19.99.

Serious Sam: The Second Encounter is going to get similar treatment in the future, as the HD version is already being developed.
