Orange CEO Confirms Upcoming Apple Tablet

Stéphane Richard, the Chief Executive Officer Delegate at Orange, has just confirmed that Apple are launching a tablet device with a built-in webcam. According to him, this will benefit Orange’s customers as well, allowing them to make use of a better video phone system to transmit real-time imagery.
Oddly enough, shortly afterwards, Orange came out with an official statement announcing that Richard’s words were “taken out of context”, and that he did not, in fact, acknowledge any Apple tablet devices.
Which is funny, because, taking a straight quote from the interview, Richards answered with a simple, straightforward “Yes”, when asked whether Apple really are launching a tablet device. We can understand the “taken out of context” argument normally, but in this case, it doesn’t really go.
This is looking similar to 2007, when Orange’s CEO Didier Lombard inadvertedly revealed the iPhone before Apple did so themselves, enraging Steve Jobs – and leading to a public denial by Orange representatives.
