MS slate

The tablet age is catching up with more arrivals and impending ones. The keynote speech by Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer at the Las Vegas CES event in a few hours from now is expected to bank on the same theme. Yes you guessed it right. Microsoft is all set to roll out its version of the slate-type computer. It is being rumored that Hewlett-Packard will be making the slate.

Expected to roll out by mid-2010, the Microsoft-HP slate is in for huge competition, that’s for sure. This is because Apple has been gearing up to unveil its tablet before January gets to a close.  So when an Apple device is already in the  market, it is expected that Microsoft and H would look at new improved ways to beat competition. And so, we can expect the Microsoft-HP slate to be one of a kind – it has to be if the device is to survive in an Apple market.

Expected to be tipped as multi-media whiz with e-reader and multi-touch functions, the new slate would well be Ballmer’s prestige product. He would be looking at having an exemplary device and not an also ran in the market. We are just waiting for Ballmer to walk up to the podium and announce what he has to show to the world.
